Designer's note

 

Essé is an urban womenswear label, offering reinvented classics and luxury essentials. Our design ethos stems from marrying a modern aesthetic with responsible manufacturing practices. At the brand’s core are values of simplicity, functionality, quality and longevity.

 

We aim to explore the nuances of an individual’s personality through intimate detail, sartorial techniques and refined fabrications. Integral to the Essé culture is the combination of contrasting elements - fragility and strength, tradition and modernity, fluidity and severity.

DESIGN PERSPECTIVE - NURTURE A VOICE FOR CHANGE

The design philosophy lies in embracing time-honoured artisanal techniques with a modern sensibility, to create an experience that encourages social and environmental change. The brand aims to encourage consumers to re-evaluate the relationship they have with their clothing : the number of hands that have worked on them, the length of time it takes to weave the fabric, where the raw materials have come from.

 

The aim is to not just to make garments that last you years (and then some), but pave the runway with progressive responsible production methods and innovative textile inventions. We feel fashion can have a tremendous impact and can help address social challenges.
